How did we get here? Well last weekend we decided to take our first camping trip with friends who I camped with when I was a child. We thought we'd leave a day early with my parents in tow. We made it to the dirt road down by the salt n sea and we were a mile on the dirt road when Jason's Explorer died. Since it was six o clock and a tow truck could come for an hour and a half we decided to pitch our tent on the side of the dirt road. We had a great night with the boys by the campfire and slept soundly in the tent. The next morning we called to have a tow truck come and were informed they will not come on the dirt road. Thankfully, my dad had a truck and towed Jason's Explorer with a rope to the closest street a tow truck would come to. The car was towed to Palm Desert. The boys, my parents and I waited on the side of the road, under our easy up (with no shade and it was 103) for the verdict. Around 5:00 we got the news that the engine had seized and it would be 6000 to replace. Thankfully Jason's Grandparents let him borrow their Explorer to rescue us from the desert and take us home. Now we needed a car. After much haggling and many hours at the car dealer this was the end result. The smile has not left Jason's face all night!

Hawaii - Part 2
We decided to whale watch because you could see whales breaching in the water from our condo patio. We saw many whales but about 40 minutes into the trip the boys slept and stayed asleep until we docked. It's a good thing they were free! The nice thing was the boat was empty so we could move around the boat freely and had no one standing in our way.

Grandpa and the boys.

James and Thomas loved the shaved Hawaiian ice.
One night we went to the Sheraton to watch the cliff diver. Before he dives he lights torches around the property. He saw us and let the boys help him light a few of the torches that surrounded us. I don't have a picture of him diving as it turned out blurry.

When the boys got off the plane the first thing they said was, "Where are the Hula Girls?" Well, they finally met one at the Sheraton.
I was trying to capture the rainbow from our patio. Can you see it?
By the end of the week the boys were snorkeling on their own. The first picture is James and below that is Thomas. Thanks Micaela and Grace for letting us borrow your vests!

Even though they can swim the boys wore the life vests in the pool so they could snorkel there. Here is goofball #2.
Apple smiles. I think this was Grandpa's idea.
There were banana trees on the property. Pretty neat for the boys to see.
I loved this tree!
A picture of our view from the patio and our last day on Maui.

The path to the condo.
As we were getting on the plane to leave the boys asked the stewardess for wings. She said I can do better than that and the pilot said come and have a seat in the cockpit. The boys sat in there while we boarded the plane and the captain told them all about flying. What a highlight to the trip. I am so thankful they did not push any buttons!

Hawaii - part one
There is nothing better than taking a trip and going from the beach to the pool daily. That's what we did all week in Maui. We celebrated Jason's Dad's 60th birthday. Here are some pictures from our wonderful vacation.
Here we are checking in to the Kahana Village condos.
The first thing the boys had to do was go to the water.
The boys would just lay in the water and let the waves pull them on shore. Their idea of body surfing!
