Strawberry Picking

A friend from work (Lisa) told me about strawberry picking at Cal Poly Pomona and how much fun it was. We decided to take the boys on Saturday. They had a blast! We think they ate more than they picked as you can see from their faces. We can't wait to do it again. Thanks Lisa for telling us about it.

Playing Dress-Up

Due to the hot weather, Jason brought home his brush uniform as he needed to prepare it for brush fire season already. The boys could not resist. They said, "fireman too" so Jason obliged and here are the results! The first two are of James and the last is Thomas.

A Day with Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa Ward got us these foam airplanes. We flew them at the park for the first time! What fun. They are too heavy for us to throw but we will run after them and bring them back. Aren't Grandparents the best!

Day 7 Saturday Palm Desert

Today we went down to Palm Desert to visit Jason's Parents and Grandparents. To our surprise Jason's Aunt Debbie and Uncle Randy were there too. It was great. They had Easter eggs hidden all over the house and they had Easter baskets for the boys. Jason's Grandparents live on a golf course so we took the boys for a ride on golf carts. Thomas was hooked! He even woke up this morning saying more golf cart. The sad thing about the trip was that we had to leave at two because Jason is the on call paramedic for the Saturday church service and we had to run to get back for it. Our church service was great. The boys could only say more church once we picked them up from their class. I am happy that I have hope and it is in the resurrection of Jesus. I am also truly thankful for all of the blessings God has given me/us. What a Great Easter!

Here we are posed with Jason's Parents.

We made a driver change and now Jason's Dad and Aunt Debbie drive Thomas. Can't you see him grinning ear to ear. He was that way the whole time.

Day 6 Pictures and Easter Cookies

My mom has always wanted a picture of Thomas, James and their cousin Kash together. Today we took them. Here is a picture of what little boys do best - push buttons!
Kash would not stay in the Picture so here are the boys waiting.

Later once we returned home and the boys napped we made cookies. Here are the boys cutting them and the finished product down below. A word of advice - it is hard to do cookies by yourself with the boys!

Day 5 continued Easter Eggs

As if we didn't get enough cooking in, we decided to dye eggs today too. Here are the boys with the finished product.
Here is Thomas coloring an egg. Now it's James' turn!
Here is the dye proudly displayed.

Day 5 Chicken and Dumplings

Nobody makes better chicken and dumplings than my Grandma. So today the boys and I put on aprons and learned how to cook this delicious meal. Here they are posed with their Great Grandma Ward. Below is a picture of our cooking lesson. We cait wait for dinner tonight!

Day 4 - Skirball Museum/Noah's Ark Exhibit

Today we went to the Skirball Museum in Los Angeles with Mom, Grandma and Grandpa. We heard that they had a neat hands on exhibit of Noah's Ark. It was a lot of fun for the boys. They know of Noah's ark but it was fun to bring it life. They had the opportunity to make thunder sounds. They created a wind storm and a rain storm.
Here is James cooking inside of the Ark.

Anything to do with climbing always brings a smile to the boys face. They got to climb a rope net to get to different levels of the Ark. Climbing is something they do best!

Here they are on top a tortoise.

Their favorite part of the day was loading animals on a conveyor belt and turning the wheel so the animals went up the Ark. This is were we spent most of the time. Once the animals reached the top they fell down a shoot and the boys reloaded them onto the belt.

I can't figure out how to turn this picture or cut it out. Sorry!

Here is James flying down the ropes course! This was probably one of the highlights of the week. We will see how they do cooking tomorrow. The saga continues.....

Day 3 - Irvine Regional Park

Today we went to Irvine Regional Park for their Easter eggstravangaza. We had a great time. See captions below pics to see what we did!

Here is Thom riding Rocky. He cried when the ride was over because he wanted to ride Rocky more - in his words.
Here is James riding Dolly. He was not as attached to her as Thomas was to his horse.
Thomas and James posing for a picture after a train ride.

The boys and Dad waiting for the Easter Egg hunt. James got an egg that had a ticket for a free train ride inside and Thomas got an egg with a ticket for a free bike rental. We will have to come back another day to use that.

Thomas Breaking out!

James turn!

Two cute chocolate Easter Bunnies! This was a great outing and what a great park to enjoy after everything. Stay tuned for what's to come tomorrow!

Day 2 - Disney water

Today we went to Disneyland. It was way to busy so the boys just played in the water instead. Thomas sported his glasses most of the day. James took them off as he got wet the most. Where will tomorrow lead us? You'll have to check back tomorrow for our exciting spring break adventure!

First Outing of Spring Break '09

Today we visited the Long Beach Aquarium. The boys enjoyed the fish but really liked touching the sharks. The video shows them touching the sharks. Their other highlight was the seals. After the trip we had lunch at Bubba Gumps!
