We decided to whale watch because you could see whales breaching in the water from our condo patio. We saw many whales but about 40 minutes into the trip the boys slept and stayed asleep until we docked. It's a good thing they were free! The nice thing was the boat was empty so we could move around the boat freely and had no one standing in our way.
Grandpa and the boys.
James and Thomas loved the shaved Hawaiian ice.
One night we went to the Sheraton to watch the cliff diver. Before he dives he lights torches around the property. He saw us and let the boys help him light a few of the torches that surrounded us. I don't have a picture of him diving as it turned out blurry.
When the boys got off the plane the first thing they said was, "Where are the Hula Girls?" Well, they finally met one at the Sheraton.
I was trying to capture the rainbow from our patio. Can you see it?
By the end of the week the boys were snorkeling on their own. The first picture is James and below that is Thomas. Thanks Micaela and Grace for letting us borrow your vests!
Even though they can swim the boys wore the life vests in the pool so they could snorkel there. Here is goofball #2.
Apple smiles. I think this was Grandpa's idea.
There were banana trees on the property. Pretty neat for the boys to see.
I loved this tree!
A picture of our view from the patio and our last day on Maui.
The path to the condo.
As we were getting on the plane to leave the boys asked the stewardess for wings. She said I can do better than that and the pilot said come and have a seat in the cockpit. The boys sat in there while we boarded the plane and the captain told them all about flying. What a highlight to the trip. I am so thankful they did not push any buttons!
The boys found the safety instructions very fascinating.
At home LAX. What a great vacation. We want to go back next year!
There is nothing better than taking a trip and going from the beach to the pool daily. That's what we did all week in Maui. We celebrated Jason's Dad's 60th birthday. Here are some pictures from our wonderful vacation.
Here we are checking in to the Kahana Village condos. The first thing the boys had to do was go to the water.
The boys would just lay in the water and let the waves pull them on shore. Their idea of body surfing!
Thomas playing in the sand.
James loving the beach.
Boarding with assistance.
We're buried with Grandpa.
A busy day on the beach. It was like this the whole week! We pretty much had it all to ourselves. What a view.
Here is Jason and the boys before getting on the Sugar Cane Train.
Jason and his parents.
US!
One of the things the boys wanted to do was drink from a coconut. Here they are drinking from one and believe it or not they kind of liked the coconut milk.
Today we had to get tires on Jasons car. After shopping through Sams club we waited about 5 minutes and the car was ready. As the guy came to give us the keys Thomas goes, "Man that took an awful long time could you work a little faster next time?" I need to teach him the phrase insert foot in mouth!
Tonight the boys slept under the tree. They have wanted to do it for weeks.
We had our Thanksgiving with Dad at the fire station. We finally found out where he sleeps. We got to take a ride in the fire truck and wore the headsets too. All we could scream was rock and roll the whole time.
We got to go to the Fireman's Chili Cook off. This is the first year Jason did not participate. The nice thing was he got to watch the boys have a great time. Not only did they pet a dalmation with red toe nails but James rock climbed and Thomas played baseball.
