Stitches!

Well we all knew this day would come and we thought it would happen sooner, but Thomas got stitches. I would like to note that this happened weeks ago and on Dad's Watch! I just wanted to update with a picture and notify those of you who did not know. Now everyone can tell James and Thomas apart. Thomas will be the one with the scar next to his eye.

The boys were told to go to bed for and nap and decided to jump on the bed instead. Ruining their fun, Jason barged in their room and told them to lay down. As Thomas jumped down he hit the corner of his bed splitting his skin open. He took the stitches like a trooper even though he was papoosed to a board. Five stitches in all!

Potty Time!

Well we thought they'd never get the hang of potty training until we introduced the boys to Diego underwear. Diego is the most important cartoon character in their life. James and Thomas would never dream of dirtying their Diego Undies! Here they are proudly displaying them. James on the left Thomas on the right. Now I just wonder what character I can get for Jason!

It's Chili time!

We just finished up an "Intense Competetion". The fireman of station 33 and I competed once again in the annual LA Firemans Credit Union Chili Cookoff. Competetion started at 8:00 am, and you were not allowed to prep anything. You could chop up ingredients, but that was about it. Last year we didn't win any awards, but you will see our team in just about every ad the credit union put out. Here are a few pictures from our team this year and one from last year. Our theme was, "Our chili is Money".

The kickoff!

Well we have finally decided to join the rest of the techno. world and start up a blog site. We will try to keep up new pic's of the boys.

So here is what's new:

Jason- I was off work when all of the new wildfires started, so once again I missed going out on a strike team. We happened to be too close for comfort to the fire that started in Brea, we were about 1 mile away from where it started. If the winds would have changed direction we may have lost our new home. Now that the fires are all out, we are cleaning up all the ash and huge chunks of burned out embers that fell. As for the house, I have been working on the backyard, removing a few plants and planting some new ones. We finished up the boys playroom, and I built a new playhouse in the backyard. They love it! As for the rest of the inside portion of the house, we plan to start working on the living room and kitchen next year. I am trying to enjoy as much time with the family as possible, since work is about to get crazy here in a few more weeks. Time once again for The Rose Parade and Rose Bowl game!

Melissa- Recovering after MAJOR SURGERY! Ok just surgery. She had to have her gallbladder taken out after she became very sick. She has been recovering well, still has pain, but getting better each day. The days leading up to her surgery, we found out that her cousin that lives in Washington, who was 28 weeks pregnant, had her water break and went into labor! Long story short, the baby has been doing well and she just got out of the hospital after a little bout of pneumonia. Melissa is enjoying her time off and will go back to work after the Thanksgiving holiday.

James and Thomas- Just celebrated their 3rd Birthday. We still haven't quite figured out where they get that non-stop energy. No matter how much they run around the house, backyard and frontyard, they still have energy to keep going at night. We have started the potty training journey, what a mess! To top it all off, they have been talking like crazy. They pick up new words everyday. My favorite " Daddy I Love You", kind of makes mom mad until they tell her "Mommy I Love You".

Pictures to come soon!
